Never Go Without Teeth With Our Unique Dentures Process
The dentures process can be confusing since there are several appointments involved. Here is a breakdown of what you can expect at each appointment.
Initial Appointment - This appointment is quick, typically 20-30 minutes. At this appointment, we take impressions of your mouth. These impressions will be used to make custom impression trays. These are really important to get the proper fit and comfort of the dentures.
Final Impressions - This appointment is a little longer, usually 40 minutes, so we can get really accurate impressions before we send them to the lab to make wax rings. These wax rings help us figure out your unique needs.
Bite Registration - This is usually the longest appointment and will take about an hour. We take the wax rings and level them out to get the proper bite. We send these to the lab where they will be used to begin setting the dentures.
Wax Try-In - If everything goes according to planned, this is a quick appointment. We confirm that the shape, size, color, and fit works for you!
Denture Delivery - The lab will send us the final dentures and we deliver them to you. We will confirm that your new dentures fit properly and that the bite is aligned.
Depending on your unique dental needs, you may need your teeth extracted before going home with your new dentures! If this is the case for you, your last appointment will be called “Immediate Dentures”.
We will extract your teeth at the last appointment and deliver your new dentures to you so that you will never go without teeth.
We will want to see you 24-48 hours after to make sure everything is healing well. We will want you to keep the dentures in for the first 24 hours because there will be some swelling. Check out the post-op instructions below so you know what to expect after your last appointment!
