Is Invisalign
Right For You?

Are your teeth crooked, crowded, or rotated? Do you have gaps or spaces in your teeth? Did you have braces when you were younger, but your teeth are no longer straight? Did you lose your retainers and your teeth have shifted? Do you have an overbite or underbite? If any of these issues ring true, we can help you restore your smile with clear alligners!

Benefits Of Invisalign

Invisalign has a number of benefits compared to traditional metal braces:

  • Invisalign is removable, so there are no food or dietary restrictions, and you can remove your aligners to do things like play musical instruments or sports

  • Unlike braces, you don’t need regular adjustments, so you’ll spend less time in the dentist’s chair

  • Invisalign is completely invisible and doesn’t affect speech, so nobody needs to know about your orthodontic treatment

  • Your aligners exert more gentle, even pressure on your teeth compared to braces, leading to less discomfort and tenderness during your treatment

Am I A Candidate for Invisalign?

Invisalign can typically be used to correct most minor-to-moderate orthodontic issues. However, it may not be right for you if you have significant bite problems, very large gaps between your teeth, severely rotated teeth, or other major orthodontic issues. During a consultation, Dr. Green will assess your smile and discuss whether you are a good candidate for Invisalign, and help you explore your options.

The Invisalign Process

After you’ve been approved as a candidate for Invisalign, Dr. Green will take images, scans and x-rays of your mouth. Then, Dr. Green will work with the Invisalign team to develop a treatment plan, custom-tailored to your mouth. It usually takes about four weeks for your first set of aligners to be manufactured and arrive at our office. You’ll wear each aligner for 20-22 hours per day, and swap aligners every 2 weeks. About every 6 weeks, you’ll come in for an appointment with Dr. Green to ensure that your treatment is on track, and you’ll receive your next 2-3 sets of aligners. Treatment usually takes about 20-24 sets of aligners, so the total treatment time is usually under a year, though this varies from patient to patient.
